10 Things to do During Spring Break

Happy Spring Break all!

If you are anywhere from the ages of 5 to 18, you probably are having/will have your spring break around this time. As for me, I just got out of school for eleven glorious days on Friday, and writing this on Sunday night, I just realized I have no plans for the break.

Disregard this post if you are going away (lucky you- send pics) but if you're like me and haven't got a clue what you're doing except maybe scouring the kitchen for snacks, keep reading. Maybe we can all get through these days of boredom together... hopefully. To help our *struggles* of not having a concrete schedule of six hour learning followed by two more hours of homework, I've complied a list of 10 things you can do during your spring break, without breaking the bank (you're welcome). And don't worry, I made sure that each point on the list is somewhat aesthetically pleasing and will fit nicely with your Instagram theme (a necessity for me).

1. Have a picnic!

This does require buying (or at least finding) some sort of edible spread. Extra brownie points if it's Instagram worthy.

2. Chalk art

Find some chalk and some friends and go to town on your driveway or street.

3. Go on a hike

Exercise, exposure to nature, suuuuuuper artsy pics... ;)

4. Watch the sun set at a beach

It's starting to get warmer, which allows you to sit on the beach and not freeze your butt off (a great plus to the spring).

5. Doodle, draw, sketch

You have a lot of free time if you're off, and if you're into art, my favorite way to relax is to draw. Usually I write down quotes I find online (this picture is some of the quotes I've written down).

6. Explore

Drive somewhere for the day and walk around an unfamiliar town, take pictures, eat at a diner, or say hi to a stranger.

7. Work out!

This may seem like a not-so-fun way to relax, but whether you want to get fit, move around, or feel good, exercise is a really awesome way to do that.

8. BBQ

Gather your friends and make some burgers and hot dogs- add a little music and you're good to go!

9. Go thrift shopping

This may cost some money if you're buying things, but if not, it's still super fun to just look around at all the unique pieces. My friends and I are going thrift shopping this week and I am so so excited for it!!

10. Bake

Pick a couple of recipes you've seen on Instagram or Pinterest and make them! Invite your friends to help and taste-test everything.

Whatever you do during your break, make sure it's something you enjoy or something that brings you joy. The main and longterm goal should always be finding something to do that'll make you smile, and if it does that, it doesn't matter where you are- you don't have to be on a tropical island to have a good time. Surround yourself with the right people, some good food, and store a few activities in your brain for when you need them (maybe even use some of these:) )
