New Year, New Me

The concept of a new year holds so much weight. For the next 365 days the majority of us will try to reinvent ourselves, start doing something, or stop another... And since 365 days can stretch out and seem like a lot longer than it actually is, it's pretty difficult to stick with those "resolutions" for the whole year. The list of goals/resolutions/wishes for the new year can be a huge burden on some of us because the goals we set for ourselves are too difficult to achieve. Sometimes they're too broad or grand-scaled and we drop those resolutions by the second month of the new year. It can be pretty frustrating if we don't complete these goals- or even try to accomplish them. So here I am, putting my New Year's Resolutions online for the world to see (although no one reads my blog so this isn't a huge deal) to freeze it in time and hopefully push me to complete these goals. And hopefully, you can gather some ideas for your own New Year's Resolutions.

1. Work out at least three times a week.

- do it for ME and no one else

2. Eat better.

- this doesn't mean 100% cut out french fries or chips, but try to eat more fruits or veggies

3. Get a job

- summer job, after school job... Whatever it is, get one! 4. Make new friends

5. Say YES more

- to socializing, food, opportunities

6. Listen to new music

7. Drink more water

8. Put $$ in the bank instead of spending it ALL

9. Learn/try yoga and meditation!

10. Stay consistent with my blog

- write more in general

11. Go to concerts

12. Do things that may be out of my comfort zone.

13. Take vitamins

14. Read at least 20 books

- not all during the summer

15. Stay ahead in school

16. Practice the flute 3-4 times a week

17. Improve with playing the piccolo

18. Have more fashion photo shoots with friends

No matter how far or impossible your goals may seem, write them down. Remember them. Research them, think about them, invest time in them. Carve out time during your day for your goals, don't try to squeeze it in with everything else you have going on. And don't add it onto to the list of things you're stressing about- the new year is a time for you to turn a new leaf, as cheesy as that sounds, and start fresh.

Every day is a fresh start. If you stop doing your "goal" for a few months, don't wait for the new year. Start now. There is no better time than the present.
