You're searching the Internet high and low for a super easy, do-it-yourself, last-minute costume, which of course can't cost more than $20, because that's all you have in your wallet right now. This means you fall into the category of the majority of Halloween celebraters who wait until the last minute to figure out a Halloween costume, (hey, don't worry about it, I got my costume two nights ago) and you've now realized Halloween is a week away... how are you supposed to find a costume that isn't $60, sold out, or lacking in your size? I can relate to this on a very personal level, so I've decided to come to your rescue and give you 100-yes, you read that right, 100- last-minute Halloween costumes. And since there's 100 of them, there's no time to wait- let's get started!
Disclaimer: I do not take full credit for any of these ideas. I just decided to read a million blogs and/or Pinterest pages for costumes and put them all in one place for you.
1. Where's Waldo?
Find a red and white striped t-shirt, red and white hat, and hide all the time so no one can find you.
2. Minion
Find a yellow shirt, some suspenders/overalls, goggles, and bam! Minion.
3. Rosie the Riveter
Find a blue button down, red and white polka dot headband, and put your hair up. Add some red lipstick.
4. Regina George
Cut two holes in a white tank top right on your chest and wear a purple bra underneath. Grab some heels, and you're set!
5. Cat
All black. Cat ears. Draw some whiskers on your cheeks with eyeliner. Don't forget a tail!
6. Ceiling Fan
Write 'Go ceiling!' on a t-shirt and carry around pom-poms.
7. Pumpkin Pi
Write the symbol for pi on an orange shirt and, if you can, hot glue a plastic pumpkin to a headband.
8. French Toast
Draw a piece of toast on a shirt and wear a beret- maybe even add a mustache to your face!
9. When Life Gives You Lemons...
Write 'Life' on a white t-shirt and hand out lemons the whole time.
10. Chip on the Shoulder
Glue a bag of chips to your shoulder.
11. Pig in a Blanket
Rock some pig ears and nose and walk around wrapped in a blanket.
12. Tourist
Add a fanny pack and Hawaiian t-shirt to taking pictures of everything and you're good to go!
13. Two Dancing Girls Emoji
Wear a black dress with some black ears and of course, have a friend do the same. Whenever you pose for a picture, pose like the emoji!
14. Dancing Girl in Red Dress Emoji
Wear a red dress. Voila!
15. Harry Potter
If you're a girl, it's basically the same costume as Hermione's would be, just add the lightning bolt scar. If not, wear pants, glasses, a white button down, carrying a wand with you.
16. Hermione Granger
Wear a long black skirt with a white button down tucked in, tie, and wand. Frizz your hair for added effect.
17. Kylie Jenner
Over-draw your lips and wear something revealing. And take a million snapchats.
18. Taylor Swift
Give yourself some bangs, wear red lipstick, and carry a mic around. As for the outfit, pick whichever one you think you'd be recognized as Taylor in.
19. Shark Week!
Cute one to do with six other friends- buy shark costumes and have each day of the week's abbreviation glued to the front of your costume.
20. Beanie Baby
Dress up as any animal and cut a heart shape out of cardboard, paint it red and white, and write "Ty" on it.
21. Copy Cat
Dress up as a cat and carry around fake tests/homework and ask everyone, "Can I copy your notes?"
22. Rainbow Snapchat filter
Look up a tutorial on YouTube and go to town with this look- it's pretty involved.
23. Jake from State Farm
Wear a red shirt, kaki pants, and a name tag that says 'Jake from State Farm'.
24. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Wear all green with a different colored headband tied around your head and don't forget the "shell"- spray painted garbage can tops work great for this!
25. Superhero
This is what my friends and I are being (I'm Wonder Woman by the way). Choose a superhero and dress accordingly. The costume would be different for each character.
26. Belle
Wear a blue dress with a white apron/smock-type thing over it, tie your hair in a blue ribbon, and carry a book around. Bump into people while reading it for effect!
27. Error 404: Costume Not Found
Write that^^^ on a white t-shirt. Done.
28. Bouncers
Wear a black suit, sunglasses, a serious expression, and touch your ear as if you're listening to a head piece. Works well if there are a couple of you doing this!
29. Eleven from Stranger Things
(Shaving your head is optional, haha) Wear a pink dress, smear some blood and dirt on your face, place a blonde wig on your head messily, and carry around Eggo waffles.
30. Nudist on Strike
Wear regular clothes and make a little sign that says 'Nudist on strike!'
31. Hillary Clinton
Wear some sort of pantsuit and (optional) buy a Hillary Clinton mask.
32. Donald Trump
Wear a suit and buy a mask if you want. Go around, interrupting people's conversations and scream "WRONG" in their faces. Also avoid any question asked to you and completely change the subject.
33. Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's
A little black dress, pearls, gloves, sunglasses, and a cigarette are all you need.
34. Scream Queens character
Wear something pink and fluffy and maybe carry around a knife. Smear fake blood on yourself if you want to for effect.
35. Nerd
Find suspends, a button down, and glasses.
36. Vampire
Wear a black dress with ripped tights, buy some vampire teeth, and of course be covered in blood, blood, blood!
37. Velma and Shaggy
Velma- orange shirt, skirt, socks, heels, and glasses. Shaggy- green shirt and black pants.
38. Mary Poppins
Wear a button down tucked into a long skirt and carry around a bag and an umbrella.
39. Jellyfish
Wear white/pink and tape streamers of whichever color to an umbrella so that they're hanging down!
40. Men in Black
Wear black suits and carry around a fake gun. Fake ear piece helps too.
41. 101 Dalmatians
Wear all white and paint black dots all over you. Works best in a group, especially if someone can be Cruella de Vil!
42. Trolls
Wear bright colors and tease, hairspray, and mold your hair until its sticking straight up. Use color hairspray too!
43. Mario and Luigi
Mario- suspenders and red shirt. Luigi- suspenders and green shirt. Print out the initial of whichever one you're being and stick it to your suspenders.
44. Thing 1 and Thing 2
Each wear a red shirt and write 'Thing 1/2' on it.
45. Red Riding Hood
Wear a black dress with a red cloak and carry around a basket. Would be super cool if someone else dressed up as the wolf and followed you around all night!
46. Grey's Anatomy characters
Wear blue scrubs with a name tag of one of the characters.
47. Pikachu
Wear all yellow (follow instructions from a YouTube video explaining how to mark the costume) and say 'Pika!' all the time.
48. Harley Quinn
Blue and pink sparkly shorts, 'Daddy's Lil Monster' t-shirt, 'Puddin' choker, hair in pigtails spray painted blue/pink, and smeared blue and pink eye makeup and red lipstick.
49. The Joker
Wear a purple suit with a green shirt- maybe spray paint your hair green and go CRAZY with the makeup.
50. Athlete
Wear sneakers, tank top and leggings, carry a water bottle around, and jog in places all. The. TIme.
51. Dora the Explorer
Wear a pink shirt, orange shorts, and carry around a backpack. Don't forget that bowl-cut wig!
52. Burglar
Wear all black, carry a black bag, and wear a mask.
53.Identity Thief
Wear all black and stick tons of "Hello, my name is ___" stickers all over your body with different names filled in the blanks.
54. Sims character
Make the little green diamond shape out of cardboard, paint it green, tape a piece of wire to the cardboard then loop it around a headband.
55. Minnie Mouse
Wear a red skirt with white dots and black shirt. Don't forget ears!
56. Greek goddess
Wear a long, flowy dress and add a gold leaf crown.
57. Cinderella
Wear a blue dress, tie your hair in a bun, and wear a black choker. Walk around with one shoe off the whole time.
58. Pirate
Wear a white loose button down, pirate hat, eye patch, hook...
59. Devil
Wear all red with devil wings and horns.
60. Angel
Wear all white with angel wings.
61. Bat
Wear all black and somehow, with some great creative skills you've got, make bat wings. Or just buy them.
62. Emoji
You can paint any emoji onto a circular piece of cardboard and glue it to a t-shirt.
63. Alice in Wonderland
Blue dress, white front, cat ears.
64. Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz
Blue and white dress, pigtails, whicker basket, ruby slippers.
65. Darth Vader
Wear all black, the mask, carry a lightsaber, and breathe really loudly (like Darth Vader).
66. Ariel
Purple top, long green skirt. Stick a fork in your hair. Red wig.
67. Crazy Cat Lady
Wear a robe and put curlers in your hair. Glue tons of cat stuffed animals to your robe.
68. Wendy from Peter Pan
Blue dress. That's it. (haha)
69. Mime
Black and white striped shirt tucked into black pants with suspenders. Use face paint and paint your face white with black accents (look up pictures). Stay silent the whole time.
70. Instagram picture
Cut out a piece of cardboard so there is a square center and paint what an Instagram page looks like around the picture (hold the cardboard center so your face is the "picture"!)
71. Ghost
White sheet. Cut out holes for eyes. Boom. (Or should I say boo?)
72. M&M's
Fun group costume- everyone chooses a color and wears that color t-shirt and tutu. Paint a big 'm' on your shirt.
73. Colors of the rainbow
Pretty much exactly like the previous costume, except skip the 'm' on the shirt.
74. Fork in the Road
Paint white lines in a straight line like a road, and then glue a plastic fork to your shirt in the middle of the "road".
75. Clown
Get a clown mask, wear colorful, baggy clothes, and to add a twist, carry around a fake knife or something like that.
76. Sandy from Grease
Black off the shoulder cropped shirt, leather pants, red heels, red lipstick. Curl your hair like craaaaazy.
77. Pink Ladies and Greasers
Cute group idea- girls wear black leather pants, heels and the pink jacket that says "Pink Ladies" on the back, guys wear jeans, black leather jacket and a white t-shirt.
78. Fifty Shades of Grey
Wear a gray shirt. Go to Home Depot or a paint store and get a TON of different gray paint swatches (they're free!) Stick them to your shirt.
79. Social Butterflies
Fun group costume- Wear butterfly wings and different colored tutus. Everyone paints a different social media logo/icon on their shirt.
80. Hippie
Wear baggy, tie-dye clothes, flared jeans, round sunglasses, and whatever fringe you can find.
81. Snow White
Wear a yellow skirt and a blue and red shirt. Carry around an apple. Don't forget a red bow for your hair!
82. Zombie
Whatever clothes you wear, rip them. Put fake blood and dirt everywhere on you. Add some special effects makeup for bitten flesh or cuts.
83. Ravens cheerleader from One Tree Hill
Wear a black cheerleading outfit and follow the drawings of the lines from pictures online to paint the white and blue stripes.
84. "I'm a mouse, duh"
Wear a shirt that says the above saying and add some mouse ears.
85. Cleopatra
Wear a long, white dress with a gold sash and head piece. Add a black wig with bangs and you're good!
86. Victoria's Secret Angel
Wear wings and something sexy. Seriously. Anything.
87. Unicorn
Wear a white dress, add tons of glitter, and cut a cone shape out of paper and glue that to a headband.
88. Elastagirl from The Incredibles
Wear red pants and a red shirt. Paint the "i" symbol on the shirt and add a black eye mask.
89. Lilo from Lilo and Stitch
Wear a red crop top with a green skirt. Make a crown and bracelets out of leaves.
90. Stitch from Lilo and Stitch
Wear all blue and cut out Stitch's ears out of paper and attach them to a headband.
91. Cereal Killer
Buy mini boxes of cereal, glue them to your shirt, and stick plastic knives in the boxes. Add blood to your look and you're done!
92. Esmerelda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame
White off the shoulder top. Long purple skirt. Gold accents hanging from the skirt. Gold hoop earrings.
93. Cher from Clueless
Find a yellow plaid skirt and jacket. I don't know how you'll find it, but I believe in you!
94. Damion from Mean Girls Wear a big navy blue sweatshirt and carry around a sign that says "She doesn't even go here!"
95. Barbie from Toy Story
Wear a blonde wig, all blue outfit with a pink belt and heels. Don't forge the multicolored striped socks!
96. Butterfly
Butterfly wings, check. Colorful tutu, check.
97. Marty McFly from Back to the Future
Jeans, white sneakers, red puffy vest, white and blue boxed button down.
98. Doc from Back to the Future
All white lab suit, crazy white wig, goggles.
99. Gabriella from High School Musical 2
Red shorts, red one piece bathing suit, white sweatshirt.
100. Rapunzel
Long blonde wig, purple/pink dress.
101. Nicki Minaj
Crazy colored wig, anything sexy or revealing, and as added hilarity, stuff your butt with tissues or something (hahaha).
